Some general tips to make life easier (for you and for us)!

Keep in touch!

Make sure that if you change your address or your mobile number you inform us (via the Faculty Office, ground floor of Foyle Arts). On occasion, we may need to contact you if an urgent matter arises. Check your university email on a regular basis - this is our main official channel for communication with you.

Get in touch

Email is one of the most efficient ways of getting in touch with me. If you are experiencing difficulties, please provide as much information as possible. You can also telephone me on 028 713 75407. Please note that that I am based in the main academic staff office, which is out of bounds to students. If you wish to speak to me urgently, you must contact me by phone instead of knocking on the door and disturbing other staff!

Appointments and office hours

My office hours are 2.15 to 4.15 pm on Wednesday afternoon in MQ308 on the top floor of Foyle Arts. (This room is in the same corridor as the offices of the School Secretary and Head of School.) Please make an appointment in advance if at all possible - otherwise it may not be possible to see you. Also, please telephone the office number and leave your contact details if you think you may be late for your appointment. I may have a limited number of consultation times available at other times during the week, please contact me if Wednesdays are absolutely not possible for you.

Creative Technologies: Studies Advice

CT students should make an appointment for a Studies Advice meeting with myself or Greg at least once per semester. In advance of these sessions, please email details of any issues which you wish to discuss.

I hope that you find your studies here to be interesting and enjoyable. Perhaps the most important piece of advice is to consolidate and develop your knowledge as you are learning. You will get a lot more out of your time here if you don’t leave it all until the last minute!
