Brian Bridges | Experimental Composer

 
 

Brian Bridges is an experimental composer and electronic musician from Dublin. He lectures in Creative Technologies and Music at the University of Ulster's School of Creative Arts in Derry, Northern Ireland.


He completed a Master’s degree in Music and Media Technologies at Trinity College Dublin in 2003, followed by private study with Glenn Branca and Tony Conrad in the US. He began PhD studies with Victor Lazzarini at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth in 2005.


Brian is a member of the Spatial Music Collective, a group of Dublin-based composers dedicated to the composition and presentation of spatial music for instruments and electronics. He also composes microtonal music for electric guitar ensembles, completing a multi-movement piece with the 23-strong Maynooth Electric Guitar Array in 2008.
